Two episodes in.
I'm liking the weaving together of the disparate stories, giving us parts of a greater whole.
Galadriels being driven seems a bit much.
I wonder who the meteor man is. A maiar, one of the wizards? Tom Bombadil?
It's cool to hear names I haven't thught about in years. Once upon a tiime I absorbed everything Middle Earth I could find. Atlas/maps, dictionaries/encyclopedias, Tales books, poems, Tolkeins letters...everything I could find.
Good stuff.

This, this is my jam.
No genre mixing just straight up fantasy, in a setting I have adored since I was a child.
Watch it.

Palantir, mithril and Sauron's agents.
Man Galadriel and her doggedness really seems to put me off the character. She just seems so overbearing in her righteousness.
No harfoots in the one, I missed them. I want to know the identity of the meteor man.
How is it an elf is in charge of the orcs?
Keep em coming.

I think he's a maiar and will become in the third age one of the wizardds we becomme familiar with. Saruman is supposed to be the oldest. That would give him time to cozy up with Sauron and move to Ornthanc and all that by the time we catch up woth him in the LotR trilogy.

Episode 4 seems to be keeping alll of the narratives moving foward.
I'm curious about the elven, dwarven mithril storyline. Galadriel is deep down really not a good person. The's driven by vengenence whether or not it has a good outcome. Selfish and self centered, not heroic.

Dude I wonder if all that is the beginning of the creation of Mordor?
Galadriel has to live so why make it look otherwise?
I don't think I realised that the Uruk were corrupted elves.
The ship captains kid is Isuldur. The great king who's sword Aragorn carrys around.
Cool series.

Ok so one big question was answered an the other was not. Solid season, excited to see what they do with the second.
Three elven rings are accouted for but not the seven for the dwarfs or the nine for men much less the one ring.
We do know the one ring was made from the fires of Mt Doom which one can asume is the volcano that they made where the orcs are now living...what will be called Mordor.

I thought that this was a great series. It really reminded me how much I love the world Tolkien created. Some great reveals and really good character development

I agree. It took me back to when a bulk of my reading was fantasy prose and the largest part of that was my immersion on Tolkien's world. Once upon a time I had plans to be a major Middle Earth scolar and read everything I cold lay my hands on.
The show certainly felt like it was adding to and making some connections I hadn't encountered before. Excited for another season.

It was definitely a damn great series and I'm super glad they have four more planned.
I would so love someone to make a show based on the Dragonlance Chronicles but give it the love, the care, the attention (and of course the budget) of The Rings of Power.
But no one will, not in my lifetime.
But that's okay. We have The Rings of Power and as I said, it's a damn great series.
I'm trying to decide if I want to re-watch the 8 episodes now, or wait until we get Season Two.
Maybe I'll do both!

I'm really looking forward to the future seasons as well. I think it's such a fertile world for all kinds of stories.
There are a bunch of fantasy series that would translate well to tv series, I'd love to see the Prydain Chronicles as a live action series, or the Dragonriders of Pern.
