Superman stops a crook from committing suicide, destroys a big bunch of gambling houses, and threatens people with death more times that you can shake a stick at! All this and much more as Ed and Steeven talk about Superman and the Numbers Racket, the Superman story that appeared in Action Comics #16, which was published by DC Comics with a cover date of September, 1939. I’ll have to use one of my Audible credits on that Brad Meltzer book, it sounds interesting! A picture book I highly recommend is “Boys of Steel” by Marc Tyler Nobleman. It has some great information on Jerry and Joe and something Marc discovered in his research is that Jerry’s father wasn’t actually killed from being shot. I think he had a tailor shop and he was robbed, which caused him some heart stress and that contributed to his death. He has a website called Noblemania where you can even see the police report from the tragic incident. There is a podcast called “The Thrilling Adventures of Superman” and in episode 75 host Michael Bradley interviews Marc, definitely worth a listen! TTAOS, Golden Age Superman, and Reaction Comics are the golden age Superman podcasts I was referring to in my review of your podcast.

I've listened to TAoS and GAS.
I'd never heard of ReAction.
Now I'm kinda sad that we are stepping on someone's toes by covering the exact same books. I didn't realize there was an active Golden Age Superman show going.

ReAction mainly covered Action Comics and seems to be on a hiatus or stopped putting out new episodes. Please don’t feel bad about doing your spin on golden age Superman! The different approaches and perspectives keep each podcast fresh, IMHO.
