Beyond the fact that I can't afford a weekly pull box, I just no longer have any desire to bag, board, and store new books. I have more than I can handle as it is.
In other words, I read all my comics digitally and do purchase the occasional new book through ComiXology.
That being said, recently I've been thinking about searching out and buying up the Elfquest run that Marvel Comics reprinted.
In 1985, the original series was reprinted in 32 installments with additional bridging pages (necessitated by the Marvel comics, at 22 pages each, breaking at different points in the story than the Warp comics, which were 32 pages) and published by Marvel Comics's Epic imprint. This gave the series some much-needed mass-market exposure. Marvel's license was only for the original series, which was already completed, so none of the sequels followed suit. Most of the additional material (bridging pages and panels) was incorporated into subsequent print collections and the online edition.
Not sure when I'll start, I mean I can order each issue online, but it's always more fun to get out there and hit the back issue bins, so maybe this weekend I'll go visit one or two of the local comics shops.
If I do set forth on this collecting journey, I'll post pictures of what I pick up here in this thread.
