Hello and welcome to The Legion Project sub-forum here on the Just Another Fanboy forums!
The Legion Project is an issue by issue deep-dive focus podcast on the Baxter run of the Legion of Super-Heroes which began in 1984. Hosted by Eric and myself, we cover one issue per episode along with Legion tangents throughout the larger DC Universe of the 1980s. We also release semi-regular Tales of the Legion Project podcasts focusing on Annuals, mini-series, Specials, Other Media and current Legion related projects. Long time listener!! Been behind 4 episodes but catching up fast! I do have a fun question. So do you think should the Legion ever show up in a live action DC film do you think they should remain faithful to the original or modern version of the team. On that note who’s costume should remain intact and which should be altered for live action treatment?

Been a listener of your podcast since it began. Just fallen a bit behind. I started reading the Legion around issue 280 of the original series (so 1981 or 1982?)

Great to hear from everyone so far! Ed - I just realized you're using your old Seravatar. Very cool! Rob Jackson is still around on Twitter: twitter.com/b10n1c_ch1mpChris - I think there's precedence to try and create a uniform look for the team with differences in color/accessories/etc. Like the Power Rangers, like Totally Spies, etc. I suppose the way to tell the team apart would be more from what they look like from the shoulders up. It worked for the leather suited X-Men right? Haha. If I had to pick an era that maybe comes closest to what I'm thinking, I would say the pre-Zero Hour Legionnaires team from 1993. Kyle - Welcome! Around 280 is a great jumping on point. My first issue was 304 featuring the Legion Academy on the cover. Odd to think a mostly non-Legion issue was the story that got me hooked! |

charltonhero -- I have to agree with peter about the version of the team (even though I've actually read very little of that era -- only the first 12 issues of Legionnaires and whatever appearances they had in the main book [am I remembering that time correctly?]). peter, would they have their distinctive monitor board logos on their uniforms? kyle -- We started around the same time! I had bought Superboy 254 & 255 and LSH 267, but started getting it monthly with issue 275! One of these days, I'm going to talk about the Reflecto saga that preceded 280...

Hey this is awesome! I miss forums! I am Al and mostly caught up on the show (about 8 minutes in to the current episode). Been reading the Legion since issue 21 of the Five Years Later run.

Al - you got thrown right into the Legion with that issue! I was out of reading comics between 1988-90 but when I got back into comics I saw the Legion had completely changed. I picked up issues 18,19 and 20 which was the most recent on the stands at the time. My mind was blown. What was happening? I gathered up all the 5YL back issues I missed and was hooked.
