Here we go again with another episode in which I continue my nostalgic trek through G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero from Marvel Comics, one issue at a time. Today, I'm looking at issue #8: "Code Name: Sea-Strike!" by Herb Trimpe, Christie Scheele, and Rick Parker. "Action and adventure Joe style on land, on sea, in the air, and even in outer space, as GI Joe tries to protect a space shuttle launch from the diabolical machinations of Cobra!" Published by Marvel Comics with a cover date of February, 1983. I just have to say, others may see it, or read it, a different way, but there is a moment in this book that I have thus far attributed to Cobra Commander's dumbest plan to take out the Joes.
It was a last minute plan to be sure, but it wasn't at all thought through. I mean, he gives up THE MOST PERFECT OPPORTUNITY IN THE WORLD to take them out only to lure them into the ultimate trap, which wasn't so much ultimate, as stupidly pedestrian and futile.
Just listen to the episode.
